Learn how to develop a range of drawing techniques and create new compositions inspired by the winter colours and vistas in the Chatsworth Garden.

This session also offers a very special opportunity to access Chatsworth Garden during the workshop and afterwards at your leisure when it is closed to general visitors.

No previous drawing experience is required – our experienced tutor will carefully guide you through each stage of the process.

In this workshop, you will be given the opportunity to ‘get to know’ your drawing tools and learn and develop effective observation techniques to apply on location studies.  

With an experienced tutor, you’ll explore different areas of the garden to carry out observational drawings of winter flora and fauna, exploring their colour, shape and tone.  

In the garden art studio, you will have access to more plants grown at Chatsworth, and will learn how to develop your observational studies to create a series of images.

Our tutor will be on hand throughout the day, to encourage you along and answer your questions.
