Haddon Hall is one of the country’s most elegant, historically important, and timeless stately homes, encompassing over 900 years of history. Home to Lord and Lady Edward Manners, this magnificent, fortified manor house, located just outside Bakewell, is set to reopen and welcome visitors from March 20th to September 30th. Opening daily, visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the rich history of this impressive estate and enjoy the fine Tudor and Elizabethan architecture, alongside the beautiful Elizabethan walled gardens.
To ensure Derbyshire residents can enjoy Haddon throughout the seasons, this year Lord and Lady Edward Manners have launched a Derbyshire Visitor Summer Pass, in addition to the existing 30% discount off admission prices into the hall which launched last year. Derbyshire residents who purchase a Derbyshire Visitor Summer Pass can visit Haddon on multiple occasions from March to the end of September for a total of £35 per person, excluding parking. Haddon also continues to offer free entry for children under the age of 16 years old.
For those who do visit on several occasions, there’s plenty to look forward to. This spring, free guided tours will run at Haddon every Monday, starting from March 25th. Tours will run at intervals throughout the day, where visitors will be taken through the rooms of the Hall and educated on the great history of the estate.
Spotlight tours take place on the hour every hour from Tuesday to Sunday, where Haddon’s knowledgeable guides share some of their favourite insights into life at the hall over the last nine centuries.
Haddon’s Medieval Park will once again reopen to visitors in April, with a packed and diverse events calendar, which includes its popular Parkland and Specialist Walks, alongside Photography Workshops and Bat Watching evenings. In April, the Medieval Park will host two bird walks and a dawn chorus walk, led by BBC Springwatch’s bird expert Jack Baddams, who will escort visitors around the different habitats within the Medieval Park to discover and appreciate its rich bird life.
