Breakfast is served daily, and options include à la carte, continental, and Full English/Irish. Rafters at Riverside House Hotel is a restaurant that serves British and European cuisine. Vegetarian, dairy-free, and gluten-free options are also available.
In the middle of lockdown 2020, restaurateurs Alistair Myers and Tom Lawson took over and completely renovated Riverside House. The duo, who own the nationally recognised three AA Rosette restaurant Rafters in Sheffield, have always prioritised quality, sustainability, and locality in everything they do. They have both worked in Derbyshire and have always wanted to expand their portfolio to the area, so they are pleased to present Rafters at Riverside House.
This former shooting lodge in the Peak District consists of two “Superior Rooms,” Rafters and Kingfisher. In addition, there are eight bedrooms in the Garden Wing, four “Premium Garden Rooms” on the ground floor with French doors leading to their own private patio area, and four “Garden Rooms” on the first floor with views of the River Wye. An additional four “House Rooms” are located on the first floor of the original Grade II listed house, which also houses the superior rooms.
The owners are pleased to report that Rafters at Riverside House is already on the rise, having received a slew of accolades. 5 AA Gold Stars, 2 AA Rosettes, a “Notable Wine List,” and an AA Hospitality “Breakfast Award” are among them. We are included in the most recent Michelin guide. In addition, we were named “Hotel of the Year” at the Peak District & Derbyshire Tourism Awards in 2022.
