Description

The Aubrey is one of three lovely, sympathetically renovated self-catering vacation homes that were once Croft Cottage, a Grade II Listed 17th Century structure, and are now conveniently located in the lovely market town of Bakewell.

The Aubrey still has its original charm while providing the ideal hideaway for up to six guests. Modern conveniences and luxurious design have been painstakingly added.

The Aubrey has a spacious, open-concept reception area with a living area with plush sofas and a dining area, providing plenty of room for everyone to unwind and enjoy meals together. The living space is adjacent to a fully furnished kitchen.

There are three bedrooms in the Aubrey. A king-size bedroom and a twin room are the only two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. A second double bedroom as well as a family bathroom.

Location

The Peak District’s crown jewel, Bakewell, dates to Anglo-Saxon times. Bakewell, which is known for its Bakewell pudding, is a foodie’s paradise with a wide variety of award-winning restaurants and bars, excellent walking and cycling trails, an outstanding golf course, a fair number of stores, and a magnificent Monday market.

Explore the numerous country treks and rides nearby on foot or by bicycle. The home is a five-minute stroll from Bakewell Station (on The Monsal Trail). The Midland Railway line was shut down in 1968, and the resulting trail is now known as the Monsal Trail.

If you’re searching for clean air and lovely treks, the Aubrey is ideal. Dovedale, one of England’s most stunning valleys with its renowned stepping stones, should not be missed. Or go a little deeper into the Peak District for hikes that are more challenging.

Of course, the Peak District is more than just picture-perfect landscapes and gentle hills. Discover the enigmatic Castleton Caverns, the opulent Buxton Spa, or one of the numerous stately homes available, such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and Hardwick Hall, to name a few. Fun amusement parks, breath-taking caverns, and the neighbouring Matlock Farm Park, which is especially appealing to kids, offer a tonne of entertainment, come rain or shine.
